American Standard ASTM 36 is carbon structural plate, performance standards ASTM A36/A36M-03a, this standard applies to bridges and buildings used for riveting, bolting and welding structure, as well as general purpose structural steel beam quality carbon steel, steel and steel rods. heat treated for strength, however this is relatively rare.
